Audio Visual Technician
The Texas State University Performing Arts Center is hiring for the Audio Visual Technician position for Fall 2024. **This position requires in person employment and is on an event by event basis.** The AV Technician will report directly to the Operations Manager of the Performing Arts Center.
Description:
· Set up and operation of the live streaming system for performances and events. In addition, there may be additional opportunities that arise such as recordings, camera operation, etc.
Duties:
· Setup/strike of the live streaming equipment as per artist’s needs
· Day of coordination with the artist with regard to the live stream
· Test and troubleshoot all elements prior to the stream
· Operate the live streaming to include video switching, audio, and recording.
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Basic knowledge of video and audio systems
· Interpersonal skills necessary for communication with artist/group
· Attention to detail
· Quick problem-solving skills
· Self-motivated and able to work independently
· Physical ability to lift 50lbs
· Willing to work some evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior experience with live stream operation, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
· Basic knowledge of technical production (lighting, audio, projection, video)
· Familiarity with musical performances
Employee performance will be evaluated on an annual basis. Each student employee receives the same $14 hourly wage. If you are interested, please submit your cover letter and resume.
