POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Full Time.
- Monday - Friday.
- First shift hours, however flexible work schedules may be available.
- Location: 450 Columbus Boulevard in Hartford with easy access to all major highways.
- Hybrid telework schedules are available in accordance with the Telework Policy.
THE ROLE
This Staff Attorney will oversee enforcement and legal issues related to intoxicating hemp products and violations of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act. The successful candidate will work closely with other drug control enforcement attorneys and paralegals in the Legal Division. Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Managing case flow;
- Conducting settlement negotiations;
- Presenting at administrative hearings;
- Drafting and interpreting statutes and regulations;
- Providing legal support to the DCP Drug Control Division;
- Drafting legal memorandum;
- Facilitating communication and coordination with the Office of the Attorney General;
- Interacting with external stakeholders, including other state agencies, licensees and trade groups; and
- Performing all other assigned duties and responsibilities.
