Quality Clinical Research is seeking a skilled and motivated Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. The Lab Technician will play a crucial role in our research and laboratory operations including assisting in the isolation and processing of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, experienced in cell biology, and passionate about contributing to scientific advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Isolate PBMCs from whole blood samples using various techniques.
- Perform cell counting, viability assessments, and quality control checks.
- Process PBMCs for downstream applications, including cryopreservation, culture, and molecular analyses.
- Receive, label and analyze samples (blood, toxic, tissue etc.).
- Design and execute laboratory testing according standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings.
- Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
- Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
- Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Maintain accurate records and document experimental procedures.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with laboratory safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve project objectives.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., biology, biochemistry, or related field).
- Prior experience in PBMC isolation and processing, ideally in a research or clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong understanding of cell biology, aseptic techniques, and sterile laboratory practices.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and strict adherence to protocols.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing work priorities.
