Hydraulics Engineer I

The Structures/Hydraulics Section at the Vermont Agency of Transportation is seeking a Hydraulics Engineer. The primary function of Structures/Hydraulic Section is the development and design of project plans, specifications, and estimates for projects that focus on bridges/pipes/retaining walls and much more across the state. The ideal candidate for this position should have an interest in hydrology, culvert and bridge hydraulics, bridge hydraulic modeling, 3D CADD work and the ability to work on multiple projects at a given time, and strong communication skills. This position will be located in Barre City Place in Barre, VT with an opportunity to telework.

This position is classified as a Civil Engineer I with the Department of Human Resources.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field.
OR
Associates degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field AND two (2) years of experience in engineering OR licensure as an Engineer Intern.
OR
College senior in the final year of a bachelor’s degree program in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field.
