Our ideal candidate will possess an engineering degree along with broad experience in supply chain management. You will play a critical role in managing the supply chain for new and innovative medical devices.

What you will do:

  • Identify and qualify potential suppliers capable of meeting technical specifications, cost targets, and quality standards in support of new product introduction (NPI) and R&D Engineering.
  • Guide cross-functional project management across purchasing, planning, engineering, and production teams
  • Own NPI purchasing and production planning activities
  • Provide sourcing expertise and support during the design and development phases of new products, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards
  • Collaborate with R&D, engineering, quality assurance, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into the supply chain
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing any issues that may impact project timelines or product quality
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and reliability of supply
  • Continuously evaluate and improve sourcing processes, leveraging best practices and industry trends to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations
  • Prepare and present reports on sourcing performance, cost savings, and project status to leadership

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus
  • 1+ years of supply chain experience, with a focus on planning
  • Experience within a complex, physical product industry such as medical device, semiconductor, robotics, automotive or similar
  • Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Knowledgeable of processes used in the manufacturing of mechanical components such as machining, injection molding, sheet metal forming, casting, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is preferred
  • Proficiency with an ERP/MRP system is preferred
