New Product Launch Engineer

A New Product Launch Engineer job is available with a manufacturing client in Wilmington, Ohio. The individual is responsible for leading/coordinating product development team activities. The individual will lead the Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) Team activities, coordinate launch schedules both internal and with suppliers, lead with Engineering FMEA development and implementation in order to ensure a smooth launch of new products and design changes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead AQP Team activities to meet customer expectations and follow through to implementation and start of mass production. 
* Develop, with Engineering, and assure the implementation of the P-FMEA.
* In the failure to obtain approval from customer, develop other methods and resolve the potential problems with AQP Team. 
Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality supplier activities and development 
* Assists in the development of new customer dunnage and outsource dunnage. 
* Coordinate improvement activities for below target items during new model development into mass production. 
* Communicates productivity targets of new products and implement plans to achieve these targets. 
* Applies Deming principles and other root cause analysis tools when analyzing problems within the associate"s department and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements. 
* May participate in a Quality Circle improvement team when possible.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* 4-year college degree (preferably mechanical, industrial engineering or similar) or 4-years of program management experience. 
* BSMET is also acceptable. 
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 
* Full understanding and  implementation knowledge of D-FMEA and P-FMEA.. 
* Must have excellent attention to detail and strong customer relations skills and able ​ to obtain approval from customer, develop other methods and resolve the potential problems
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; 
* Good organizational skills; 
* Good problem-solving skills with experience in the use of analytical tools. 
* Strong knowledge and use of Excel and Word, Internet, and email. 
* Preferred 4-years Die Cast or Machining experience.
