RISE Education provides World Language, Music, Art, Technology, and Physical Education learning through cultural immersion for toddlers to teens. We approach learning in an enjoyable and accessible way that broadens a child’s understanding of art, culture, and all that they can achieve.
We are seeking a passionate, experienced Spanish Teacher who thrives in the elementary school classroom environment. You must have a child-centered approach and be able to create a safe well-ordered classroom. You must have a solid understanding of the national curriculum standards and have experience closing the achievement gap, and you must also develop engaging and innovative lessons that allow our students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. You are someone who incorporates technology and hands-on learning experiences into the classroom with enthusiasm. The ideal candidate also believes in collaboration with other colleagues and promotes understanding and communication in a diverse learning and cultural environment.
This position is located in Palos Heights, IL and a start date of 8/26/2024 with a schedule of T/W/TH 11:30am to 2:30pm
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- Must have experience working with children.
- Ability to communicate effectively and often with parents and families.
- Strong instructional skills and classroom management.
- Enthusiasm for and demonstrated mastery of subject matter.
- Unrelenting commitment to students, self, and school’s constant learning and development.
- Ability to self-reflect on teaching practices and be responsive to feedback.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms, and dance, and individual, dual, or team sports, and other appropriate learning activities.
- Fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Set and reinforce clear expectations and routines that are aligned with the school’s overall vision.
- Develop and implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards.
- Thoughtfully plan daily lessons and implement specific strategies to meet the needs of all students, providing extra support, enrichment, or variation of work when necessary.
- Demonstrate strong content knowledge.
- Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards and diagnose areas of student misunderstanding.
- Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
- Be accountable for students’ academic growth and increase each individual student’s achievement.
- Create a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment.
- Reflect on successes and areas of growth as a teacher, seek to improve performance, and respond to feedback.
- Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions.
- Invest parents and families in their children’s academic success through regular communication.
