Digital Content & Marketing Intern (Fall Semester 2024)

Job Title:                  Digital Content & Marketing Intern

Department:          Development and Marketing

Reports To:              Director of Development and Marketing

FLSA Status:           Non-Exempt

Hours:                       20 hours/week minimum, dates contingent on availability; core hours 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., must be flexible to meet the needs of the organization and the position. 

The start date is August 14th. 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • $1,000/month stipend
  • Will start as a seasonal internship with the potential to expand into a year-long opportunity based on performance
  • Willing to apply position as a credit-bearing internship 

SUMMARY

The Digital Content & Marketing Intern will work with the Director of Development and Marketing on digital strategy and event planning for Excentia Human Services. He/she will also assist in area of marketing, with the creation of collateral and articles for our website, programs, recruitment, and more.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS

a. Develop and coordinate social media calendar

b. Work with staff and volunteers in planning and coordinating event logistics;

c. Help to provide tactical and strategic implementation of events;

d. Work with team to solicit major gift sponsorships for events and manage the record keeping

of solicitations;

e. Work with staff to research articles using social media related to the event and additional writing

for the magazine and grants;

f. Other duties may be assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

a.    Exposure to toners and ink cartridges;

b.    Seasonal displays may include hay, leaves, flowers, pine needles, etc.;

c.     Noise level can be high at times.

QUALIFICATIONS / PRE-REQUISITES

1. COMMUNICATION

a.  Ability to effectively communicate with individuals served, staff, supervisors, management and co-workers using strong and understandable language skills verbally, in reading, written work and comprehension;

b.  Communication must be consistent with the core values of the organization.

 

2. SKILLS (Possess the following)

 

  1. Interest in learning about fundraising for a non-profit organization
  2. Interest in developing social media strategy for a non-profit organization
  3. Extremely organized and are comfortable multi-tasking;
  4. Self-motivated and can mange multiple workflows and prioritize your own time;
  5. High attention to detail;

f.      Ability to respond professionally to common inquiries from staff, vendors, consultants, outside applicants, groups, and Board members;

g.    Ability to work honestly and with integrity, fully supporting the core values of the organization;

h.    Ability to work with the highest level of confidentiality;

  1. Advanced computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel), internet, e-mail, etc.
  2. Ability to represent the department and organization professionally in and outside of the organization;
  3. Ability to take initiative and think outside the box.

Valid driver’s license
