Excited to start your engineering career? Our entry-level Structural Design Engineer position is designed with future P.E.'s in mind. Our focus is on providing you with practical on-the-job learning that will develop your technical problem-solving skills and foster your professional development.
During your training, you will develop a deeper understanding of:
- Oversee and manage the design of a wide variety of building structures utilizing concrete, steel, masonry, and wood construction in medium- and high-rise building construction types.
- Oversee construction administration activities on projects, including RFI responses and submittal reviews, and attend site visits when required.
- Provide structural design knowledge and expertise to project and peer review activities.
- Manage the full project lifecycle from scope development in proposal phase to construction completion. Work directly with clients and other design disciplines to ensure project goals are being met throughout the project life.
- Delegate project work to international engineering and drafting teams, and collaboratively work with those teams to meet project completion goals.
- Work collaboratively with other engineers in the Florida Structural Group to share professional knowledge and to balance work among resources across different offices.
- (We encourage exam preparation courses and cover the cost of courses and exam fees).
What will your day-to-day experience be like? A Structural Design Engineer's essential responsibility will include, but not be limited to:
- Structural design for large commercial buildings such as stadiums/arenas, parking garages, dormitories, apartments, etc.
- Performing basic calculations, learning codes and standards to complete assignments
- Checking of drawings, coordination with clients, architects, other engineers, general contractors
- Working as part of a project team to provide high quality and on-time deliverables.
- Maintaining internal team needs as well as external client relationships.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil or Architectural Engineering, with Structural coursework, from an ABET accredited university. GPA of 3.0 and above.
- Passed the FE exam. EIT certification is required upon hire.

- Competency using Revit, AutoCAD and/or related programs.
