About the Position:

Will Consider Transportation Planner.

Under the supervision of the Local Development-Intergovernmental Review (LD-IGR) Branch Chief (Senior Transportation Planner and Statewide LD-IGR Program Manager), the incumbent is responsible for participating and assisting in the development, review, analyses, and implementation of policies, directives, and best practices for the LD-IGR program. With guidance, the incumbent assists the statewide program direction, guidance, and training for district and headquarters LD-IGR coordinators and functional unit reviewers. The incumbent participates in consultation with districts on LD-IGR transportation and land use issues relating to current policies, procedures, technical, and legal concerns. The incumbent functions as liaison to various federal and state agencies on topics relating to statewide transportation, land use, permitting, transportation analyses, and procedural issues. As directed, the incumbent duties are maintaining, coordinating, collaborating, and problem solving for the Geobased Tracking System (GTS), a repository of local development plans, projects, and documents with a geospatial feature; assist with a bi-monthly statewide LD-IGR Working Group made up of District and HQ LD-IGR staff; and assists in the development of the LD-IGR Desk Reference Manual and related on-line electronic training modules. The incumbent works closely with other Caltrans Divisions dealing with technical and closely related LD-IGR Program issues. The incumbent performs research, data collection, and presents information based on LD-IGR policy implications to the LD-IGR Branch Chief and Office Chief. The incumbent communicates, collaborates, coordinates and assists in implementation with statewide District staff and functional unit reviewers. The incumbent provides assistance and support in the development of related guidance documents and tools, such as GTS, LD-IGR, and multi-modal analysis.
