Traffic Control Specialist

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

In the role of a Traffic Control Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to assess and propose traffic control plans and modifications based on thorough analysis of data pertaining to various department projects. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of all individuals involved. Additionally, you will play a vital role in overseeing a comprehensive quality assurance program for traffic control across the entire district, encompassing construction, maintenance, and utility/permit projects undertaken by the department. Your attention to detail and ability to make informed recommendations will be instrumental in maintaining efficient traffic management throughout the district.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
 

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • This position will require you to be on call as needed.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon successful completion of probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Dunmore. 
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
 

  • One year as a Traffic Control Specialist Trainee; or
  • Two years as a Traffic Control Technician; or
  • One year of experience in traffic control work; and a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, civil engineering, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training. 


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
