Design Assistant

Jessica Jubelirer Design a seeks a full-time Design Assistant to join our interior design studio's team in Milwaukee. Our studio's work is often featured in Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, and other publications, and we are seeking a new team member to work closely with the interior designer and design team on all aspects of our studio’s special projects. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organization skills. Please note this is a design position and requires knowledge of AutoCAD.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

  • Providing overall administrative support to the team
  • Note-taking, managing to-do lists and ensuring project deadlines are on track
  • Preparing 2-D & 3-D architectural drawings (floor plans & elevations) for presentation
  • Help preparing decks, mood boards, and proposals for clients
  • Coordinating with outside collaborators (including contractors, warehouses, vendors, carpenters, architects, etc.) and clients as needed
  • Collaborating with contractors on scheduling, deliveries, and installations
  • Preparing budgets and schedules
  • Helping research and source materials, lighting, fabrics, and furniture
  • Running general errands as needed
  • Accepting shipments & packing/unpacking
  • Organizing studio library

 

Key skills & qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Ability to do drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve, work independently, learn new skills, and find solutions with limited supervisor direction
  • Proactive self-starter – shows both initiative and detailed follow-through/completion
  • Strong attention to detail & excellent organizational skills
  • A positive and fun team player
  • Experience with WordPress, Squarespace, or other back-end CMS for creating online content preferred but not required
  • Must have an active driver’s license and access to a vehicle
