The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is seeking a Direct to Consumer (DTC) Shipping Analyst within the Bureau of Law Enforcement.

The Direct to Consumer (DTC) Shipping Analyst position is developed to help track the thousands of shipments that come into Virginia by licensed and unlicensed shippers to consumers in the Commonwealth on a monthly basis. This position is integral in analyzing the monthly reports that come in each month from the permitted common carriers to identify unlicensed shippers as well as identify violations from license shippers. This position will also be necessary to review DTC shipper reports to ensure compliance related to Virginia law and regulations.

Primary Duties

  • Supporting key compliance initiatives and internal controls
  • Analyze regulatory documentation to ensure compliance and reporting requirements
  • Maintain database consisting of common carrier monthly reports.
  • Document and test internal controls
  • Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating both orally and in writing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education or work experience in database management and analysis.
  • Experience with Financial and/or Regulatory Reporting.
  • Experience in managing databases and reviewing reports.
  • Knowledge of Direct to Consumer shipping requirements, timelines as well as laws and regulations governing such.
  • Skilled in use of personal computer and proficiency with database management, Excel
  • communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as good customer service skills.
  • Ability to enter data, gather and analyze pertinent information including monthly reporting.
  • Distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information and arrive at logical conclusions; troubleshoot problems and devise solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Competent in compiling large amounts of data across multiple formats and creating a report from that data. Must have experience multi-tasking, organizing and prioritizing workloads and understanding compliance requirements as well as auditing system information.
  • Must also have the ability to handle stressful situations, make independent decisions and work both independently and in a team environment.
