Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

van Zelm seeks an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to assist Senior Engineers with project planning and design. Projects range from Academic to Healthcare.

Duties

  • Assist Senior Engineers with design development
  • Assist with production of design documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings, additions to existing facilities, and renovations.
  • Assist with project analysis, design, and problem solving.
  • Work as part of a cross functional team to facilitate engineering and design.
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks based on importance, deadlines, and other client/project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes.
  • Comfortable adjusting priorities and shifting focus, when required, to assist with project deadlines.
  • Able to communicate and work with others.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Resourceful, independent, and eager to learn.
  • An aptitude for problem solving.
