Senior Accountant

Napa Valley College is seeking a Senior Accountant in the Business & Finance department. The Department ensures that all activities comply with generally accepted accounting principles, District policies, and state and federal regulations. The Business & Finance department is responsible for but not limited to: completing fiscal audits, preparing external fiscal reporting requirements, supporting budget development, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, and provides accounting services to the District’s two non-profits. The department is responsible for the fiscal reporting of grant funds. The department manages the Cashier Window for the district and assists students with their fee related and student body related financial activities. The department supports other areas/departments and employees of the College with their purchasing, accounting, and budget needs.    

The incumbent in this position will be performing accounting and fiscal work in the maintenance, examination, verification, and analysis of fiscal records and to perform cost and fund accounting and reporting; and providing support to college financial activities with specific responsibility for ensuring that fiscal policies, practices, and regulations meet compliance requirements.
 
This job reports to the Manager, Accounting.
 
This is a full-time, 12-months-per-year, classified position. The salary has an the appropriate placement on range 22 of the current Classified Salary Schedule.  The starting salary range is $5,215 to $6,037/month, with future steps up to $7,338/month. Placement is made based on experience.  The college offers a fringe benefit package including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, employee assistance program, and public employee retirement system membership.
