Job Summary: The Social Media intern will play a pivotal role in supporting the coordination and execution of our digital marketing efforts. Under the guidance of our experienced Social Media and Marketing Coordinators, you will receive comprehensive training and demonstrative opportunities in multimedia production and content creation for future progression into a Coordinator role. By leveraging creativity and communication skills, a successful assistant will demonstrate growing proficiency in skills, contribute to enhancing brand awareness, and engage our target audience across various platforms.

Responsibilities:
- Develop skills in photography, videography, and editing to produce compelling visual content
- Craft engaging copy tailored to different social media platforms
- Collaborate with Coordinators to plan and schedule content
- Generate and present original content ideas to enhance our online presence
- Communicate with ISoE faculty and staff to showcase ongoing research and projects
- Attend and cover important events on and off-campus

Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines effectively
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills with a passion for storytelling and visual aesthetic
- Experience with Instagram, X, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Pursuing a degree in marketing, mass communications, digital media, or a related field
- Previous experience in photography and/or videography is advantageous

On-Campus Job Location: Bruce & Gloria Ingram Hall

Direct Supervisor: Abhimanyu Sharotry (Research Engineer)

Work Schedule: The students in this position are expected to work between 5-10 hours per week.

Employee Evaluation Process:
1. Review Submissions: All submissions will be reviewed by August 6.
2. First Round Interviews: Conduct interviews from August 7 to August 19.
3. Final Decision: Make the final decision by August 21.

Post-Hiring:
- Supervisor will hold bi-weekly review meetings to assess student performance.
- Detailed evaluations will be conducted at the end of each long semester.

Pay Rate Determination: The initial pay rate is based on the relevant multimedia skills that can assist the Ingram School of Engineering with promotional and other projects. Applicants who possess additional skills will be assigned more job responsibilities and will be hired at a higher initial pay rate. These additional skills include website editing, videography, social media management, content creation, graphic design, and more. Following a formal evaluation at the end of each long semester, a promotion to Social Media and Marketing Coordinator will be considered. This promotion includes a pay increase to $15/hr.
