PROCUREMENT INTERN
Hours: Up to 15 hours per week
Compensation: $15.00 per hour
Ada County is currently seeking an intern for the Fall Semester to assist the Procurement Department. This is a great opportunity for a college undergraduate or graduate student to gain hands-on experience in the governmental procurement field. This position will work with a variety of procurement functions, which includes;
- Assist in developing and reviewing Bid, Request for Proposals (RFP), and Request for Qualifications (RFQ) documents
- Assist with coordinating meetings with internal and external clients
- Assist with bid openings and awards
- Assist with public records requests
- Assist with processing purchase requests
- Maintain/update supplier directory and plan holders list
- Assist with preparation of our annual vendor fair and reuse event
- Assist in record keeping of Procurement files
- Analyze bids for responsiveness and tally results
- Performs cost analysis and life cycle costing for products and services
- Research products and services
- Research vendors and suppliers
- Additional projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Junior/Senior or graduate pursuing degree or minor in Supply Chain Management, Political Science or Business
- Ability to work with confidential information
- Great interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and some PowerPoint)
