Physical Therapist

Job Title: Physical Therapist
Location: Redondo Beach, CA 90277
Salary: $95,000 - $125,000 per year

Job Description:
Our client, a nursing home in Redondo Beach, CA, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join their team. As a Physical Therapist at their facility, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for their residents through personalized rehabilitation programs and therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents' physical conditions, including mobility, strength, balance, and coordination. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and resident goals.
  • Treatment Planning: Design and implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve residents' functional abilities and promote independence. Utilize a variety of modalities and techniques, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and assistive devices.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor residents' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes. Document objective data, treatment interventions, and resident responses accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, to coordinate care and maximize resident well-being. Participate in team meetings, care conferences, and discharge planning as necessary.
  • Education and Training: Provide education and training to residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, safety measures, and home exercise programs to facilitate continuity of care and promote functional independence post-discharge.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhere to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements governing physical therapy practice. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, outcome measures, and performance improvement activities to enhance the quality of care provided to residents.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical records and documentation systems.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and evidence-based practice.
