Behavioral Interventionist

POSITION:       Behavioral Interventionist

LOCATION:     Jonesville Middle School

Jonesville Community Schools is seeking an interventionist who is a highly organized individual who believes that every student is capable of learning and improving emotional intelligence. This individual would have the responsibilities of working with at-risk students and teachers to increase respectable behaviors in school, thereby improving the learning environment for all. Classroom experience, an understanding of restorative practices, positive behavior intervention support (PBIS) and knowledge of behavioral programs are a plus.

In addition to salary, the position also includes medical, dental, and vision. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferred: Experience in Education, Social work, Psychology, or another similar field
• Preferred: Familiar with Restorative Practices, PBIS and/or other behavior management techniques
• Ascribes to the philosophy that ALL children can succeed and demonstrates the commitment to do what is necessary to make this a reality
• Efficient with documentation and communication with parents and staff
• Willingness to look at situations from multiple perspectives and with an open mind

JOB DUTIES: 

• Work cooperatively with building administrators
• Work with small groups of at risk students or individuals to improve self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making.
• Conduct conflict resolution and peer mediation sessions
• Consult with school student support specialist, social worker, and teachers
• All other duties as assigned
