Early Career Chemist
We have an excellent opportunity for an early career Chemist in our Honolulu, HI office.
What you will do:
The early career Chemist will support field sampling tasks. Specific responsibilities include:
- Review field sampling plans with staff to address issues and concerns prior to performance of field activities.
- Coordinate with analytical laboratories and data validation firms.
- Develop and define field Quality Assurance/Quality Control measures and required documentation and field records based on the requirements for each project.
- Perform reviews of field documentation.
- Coordinate testing services and facilitate communications between laboratory and field staff.
- Manage subcontractors, government regulatory agencies, and suppliers.
- Identify and convey quality assurance/quality control issues for both field and laboratory operations directly to Project Manager.
- Interpret analytical results for investigation reports and manage databases for federal and commercial clients.
- Assist in a wide range of projects which could include:
- Compliance.
- Construction support.
- Site Investigation/remediation.
Note: Possible travel to neighbor islands and other locations throughout the United States.

What you will need:
- Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- An understanding of environmental science within the Pacific region and/or coastal settings.
- Familiarity with laboratory analytical methods or instruments a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ablity to work in both the office and the field.
- Must be comfortable working in hot and humid conditions on challenging terrain with thick vegetation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
- Attention to detail in following safety plans, work plans, collecting data, and preparing reports.
- Ability to acquire access to military installations and have a valid driver’s license.
Anticipated salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 per year.
