Management Intern - Industrial Water Treatment Facility (IWTF) Operation Standardization

Do you have a background in engineering and a knack for technical writing? Help Pinellas County reach its vision of zero waste to landfill by 2050 by assisting Solid Waste's onsite Industrial Water Treatment Facility (IWTF) update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect new technologies and how the facility runs as a system.
Expected Achievements:
- Understanding of the industrial water treatment processes, equipment, sample collection and analysis and control software.
- Contribute to the improvement of an integrated solid waste management system.

What would you do?
- Review operating practices and existing SOPs.
- Revise and create accurate and comprehensive SOPs based on operations, shadowing of operators and research.
- Ensure procedures align with best industry practices, operating manuals, chemical product usage instructions and consultant operational recommendations.
What skills are we looking for?
- Detail-oriented and skilled in technical writing.
- Highly motivated and goal-driven with the ability to research, review and analyze information.
What do you need to have?
Must be currently enrolled as a student or on a leave of absence from an educational institution; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work 20 hours a week for an estimated period of 4-6 months, or until end of training program. Flexible to intern availability.
- Ability to work on-site at the IWTF facility located at 2861 110th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33716.
