TITLE: Elementary Special Education Teacher


 

REPORTS TO:  PRINCIPAL OF NANTUCKET INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL 


 

JOB SUMMARY: To provide support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for facilitating learning for special education students in grades 3-5; instructing, assessing, and program planning for students with a primary disability of autism, moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and/or multiple disabilities; monitoring and evaluating student progress and behavior; researching, obtaining, and providing instructional materials for special education services; serving as a resource for students, parents, and District personnel; working within a pullout environment, inclusion classroom or within a self-contained classroom.


 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold a valid license granted by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities or Severe Disabilities or eligible to receive certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or higher
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
