Invent@NMU is searching for a successful and enthusiastic part-time Office Assistant to join their team in Marquette, MI. As an Office Assistant, you will support all facets of Invent@NMU and IMQT operations. This position will provide support to the management team and assist in day-to-day business operations.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and passionate. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide confidential secretarial and administrative support for the principal executive or executives, including managing schedules, facilitating meetings, etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and directing visitors.
  • Maintain safety and security of the offices by checking visitors in and out and managing administrative concerns and inquiries as appropriate.
  • Assist with day-to-day office operations, including managing incoming and outgoing mail, answering calls and emails, managing inventory, etc.
  • Partner with the Attractions Team to assist in operational aspects of events and promotions.

SCHEDULE This is a part-time position generally working hours that will vary but will fall between the hours of 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be organized, self-motivated, accountable, and detail oriented. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced customer facing role.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills are required, along with the willingness to learn.
  • Attention to detail, initiative, creativity, flexibility, and proactive thinking is essential to drive the program’s innovative culture.
  • Must be knowledgeable in or have the ability to learn a variety of software platforms, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite. 
  • Students who express initiative and leadership skills will excel in this role.
  • Customer Service experience are a plus, but not required.
