BH Fellows Program

The BH Fellows Program sponsored by Allegheny County Department of Human Services, offers competitive pay, educational loan repayment of up to $45,000*, and a two-year cohort experience including a retreat, professional and leadership development, and relationship-building experiences. In exchange, Fellows commit to work for a minimum of two years with a sponsoring behavioral health service provider in Allegheny County. 

People who are new to the BH field are encouraged to apply (including 2025 graduates).

BH Fellows will be hired into key positions in the following behavioral health service areas: 

  • Blended Service Coordination
  • Family-Based Mental Health
  • Crisis Services
  • Child Diversion and Acute Stabilization
  • Case Management for Substance Use Disorder
  • Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment
  • Community Treatment Team

BH Fellows will be eligible to receive:

  • Competitive pay
  • Educational loan repayment (*up to $25,000 for a bachelor’s degree and up to $45,000 for a master’s degree) OR free access to an approved professional certificate program
  • Cohort experience – Fellows are part of a professional learning community with a retreat, in-person and virtual trainings, leadership development, and relationship building experiences throughout the two-year service term

Students (both bachelor’s and master’s levels) and alumni are encouraged to apply, including folks who are new to the behavioral health field
