General Definition: The City seeks experienced civil engineers to impact infrastructure projects such as roadways, bridges, traffic, water distribution, and treatment systems. Position Details:
- Advanced level engineering work.
- Responsibilities include recommending, developing, planning, and implementing complex engineering projects.
- Provide technical direction to lower-level engineers, technicians, or plant maintenance and operations staff.
- Monitor and modify existing engineering programs for efficiency.
- May serve as a project engineer for design, construction, research, evaluation, and planning projects.
- Work under general direction of an engineering supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.

General Experience:
- Two years of engineering experience in civil engineering.

Specific Experience:
- One year of full-performance level engineering experience in civil engineering.
Physical & Medical Requirements:
- Ability to perform duties and work in environmental conditions required of the position.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Submit a copy of official transcripts and required licenses at the time of application.

- National Volunteer Service Preference: Up to 5 points for service in Peace Corps, AmeriCorps.
- Philadelphia School District CTE Preference: Up to 5 points for graduates of career technical education programs.
Projected Exam Date:
- Evaluation: Modified training and experience evaluation with an assigned score of 70.
- Eligible List Establishment: Week of August 12th, 2024.
