The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is seeking currently enrolled college students who are interested in hourly employment opportunities for Fall 2024.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation plans, designs, builds, and maintains New Jersey's transportation network. The Department is offering positions that will allow students to work on an hourly basis throughout the Fall of 2024. Hours of work are flexible and will be determined by the hiring unit but will not exceed 40 hours per week.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Operating Systems Unit supports the design, development, testing, launch, and maintenance of multiple software solutions
used by 1,561 personnel working in Operations here at NJDOT. Different kinds of software include intelligent transportation software that can control cameras on our highways and post public safety messages on electronic signs, asset management software that tracks the workload of every crew, their inventory, and resolution of public safety concerns, software that controls video walls at our traffic management centers, and many more. The work performed by OSU is complex and at times requires responding to system failures as well as planned system downtime.
