USFR Events Intern
Fall 2024 Internship (August 15 - December 15, 2024)


The Hunger Project (THP) seeks an Events Intern to join our Investor Engagement team. This internship is open to currently enrolled university students.


Position Summary:
Are you passionate about being a global citizen? Would you like an internship with a global
organization working to end hunger and poverty? Do you enjoy planning and coordinating
engagement opportunities and events? Then, you should join our Investor Engagement Team!


The Hunger Project seeks passionate, creative, and adaptable individuals interested in
supporting our work to create a work without hunger. This is a part-time, remote internship
with a paid stipend. This is an opportunity for individuals eager to actively learn and
participate in many facets of a global organization's event planning, project management,
and logistical projects that will support the stewardship and expansion of our US investor
groups through a deep connection to our work. This position will work closely with our Events & Engagement Officer.


Specific responsibilities include:
● Support the planning, coordination, and execution of engagement events (virtual or
in-person), especially the annual Fall Event Weekend in NYC (October 19, 2024).
● Draft and edit communication and content to support US Fundraising efforts and
events.
● Provide administrative, creative, and project management support to the USFR and
Engagement team.
● Support the research, planning, coordination, and execution of all event logistics.
● Support the due diligence and discovery phase of strategic partnerships and potential
event sponsors.
● Act as a project manager by keeping documents, procedures, systems, budgets,
schedules, meeting notes, and overviews current and organized.
● Build relationships with THP staff, vendors, board members, investors, and other
past/present THP interns.
● Other administrative duties as assigned by the Events & Engagement, Officer.


Preferred qualifications:
● Must be located in the United States and have reliable internet access.
● NYC candidates are highly preferred.
● Must be available to attend Fall Event Weekend in NYC (October 16-20, 2024).
● Current part-time or full-time student at an accredited college or university.
● Currently enrolled in an event planning, travel planning, fundraising, and nonprofit
management or other related degree program preferred but not required.
● Must be able to commit to 15-20 hours during the business week. No weekends.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong editing and proofreading skills.
● Enjoy research projects and learning new things.
● Desire to learn, grow and embrace or generate new innovative ideas.
● Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy.
● Self-starter with strong leadership and social skills. Must be able to work
independently and take ownership of your time, space, and projects.
● A team player who is adaptable, flexible, and willing to contribute whenever needed.
● Knowledge of standard business applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, Google
Docs.
● Preferred knowledge of Canva and other graphics programs is a plus.
● Experience working across multiple cultures and languages is a plus.
● Commitment to THP’s values, including understanding and compatibility with our

Compensation: $600 per full month. Half months will be pro-rated.
Time Commitment: 15 - 20 hours/week; Preference will be given to those who can work during regular business hours.
