Engineering Technician
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Promotion to the full performance level is neither guaranteed nor implied and will be based solely on your ability to satisfactorily perform the work of the position, existing work at the higher grade level, and recommendation by the position's supervisor.
Works on a wide range of projects which includes culvert replacement, road realignment, land slide or road slump repair, recreation site improvements and administrative site improvement projects. Will be responsible for project management including becoming a qualified Contracting Officer Representative. Will perform technical evaluation and analyze project objectives and adjust standard procedures or operations based on conditions encountered in the field. Will interpret plans and specifications. Will prepare complete sets of drawings from layouts or sketches. Reviews drawings for conformance to established engineering standards, criteria, and project requirements. Will draft technical documentation for assigned technical engineering work assignments. Will conduct standard inspections and assessments. Will provide administrative support in connection with regulatory compliance program oversight. Will use databases to maintain engineering data and records.
