EX[L] Student Assistant - Akron Community Internship Program Coordinator

The EX[L] Center seeks an Akron Community Internship Program Coordinator to oversee the week-to-week aspects of the program's operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, updating ACIP graphic design materials, communicating with community partners, faculty, and students about new internships available, updating Handshake with new opportunities, fliering the campus with new internship opportunities, and working with the Assistant Director of EX[L] to get invoices and other documentation to our administrative assistant.

During downtime for this position, student maybe be asked to do the following: ensuring supplies and the physical space of the Center are in order, coordinating office staff for campus events, visit days, and outreach events, scheduling the Center with outside groups, maintaining promotional items across campus, liaising with student groups and campus offices, staffing the front desk of the Center and attending on-campus events. These will be within your working hours and will be scheduled in advance. 

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • High energy, positive attitude, willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow through on tasks as assigned
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with Google Docs/Microsoft Forms, Word, Sheets/Excel, Google Drive
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suites (InDesign), Canva, or Hootsuite is a plus
  • Adds to the diversity of student experiences in the EX[L] team
  • Able to focus on the tasks at hand
  • Comfortable thinking outside of the box
  • Team-oriented works well with others
  • Good organizational skills

Pay Rate: competitive for campus and dependent on the applicant’s experience

10 - 20 hours/week

Location - Room 168, Bierce library
