Content Editor
Although ALL SPORTS only accepts content that is uncompressed, broadcast-quality material that is theoretically ready to air, most of the material still requires some form of editing. Editing might include the following:
- Editing material to conform with time constraints.
- Developing commercials featuring content being aired on the network for use during the broadcast.
- Developing commercials featuring content being aired on the network for use on social media platforms.
- Removing commercial embedded in the material (ALL SPORTS uses a system to electronically insert commercials).
- Creating commercial breaks.
- Converting material into the NTSC 1080i format.
Supervisor
Interns will work directly with the President of the company, but might also be required to interface with other key personnel.
Performance of Duties
Interns will learn the skills and perform the same duties as other content editors at the network.
Required Hours
All internships will be done virtually. There will be no set hours, interns are expected to work a minimum of 9 hours per week. Interns will be expected to meet via Zoom at least once per week to establish the goals that they expect to accomplish during the upcoming week and provide a brief report of what was accomplished the prior week. Additional meeting will be set, when needed.
Learning Objectives
Interns will learn the differences between editing content for television as opposed to other media.
Interns will learn how to use their creativity when editing, especially when precise timing is required.
Interns will improve their editing skills using various editing software. Interns will use their creativity to develop commercials of the network content.
