Help Desk Technician

Help Desk Technician will work with school districts to provide a variety of support services including but not limited to, equipment installation, maintenance of networks, mainframe links and programming. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Either:

  1. Possession of an Associate’s degree in computer science, information resource management, microcomputer technology or related field OR completion of sixty (60) semester credit hours in a New York State registered college or university, fifteen (15) hours of which shall have been in computer science, information resource management, programming or microcomputer technology; OR
  2. Graduation from high school, possession of a high school equivalency diploma, or possession of an Individual Education Plan diploma and completion of a certified, two (2) year, technical or vocational program in the field of Computer Technology; OR
  3. Graduation from high school, possession of a high school equivalency diploma, or possession of an Individual Education Plan diploma AND two (2) years of full-time, paid experience as an Information Technology Helpdesk Technician or Computer Technician.

 

Additional Employment Information:  This is a provisional appointment. The successful applicant will need to take a civil service exam when it is offered and be reachable on the civil service list.
