Elementary School Academic Aide

Notre Dame Mission Volunteers, AmeriCorps (NDMVA) is seeking an Academic Aide to serve as a Full-time (40 hrs per week) AmeriCorps Member at Radcliff Elementary School in Watsonville. The service member's role is to promote academic engagement among K-5 students by providing small group and 1:1 instruction to students. 

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Schedule

M-F 9-5:30 pm ~40 hours per week with some weekends

Summary of duties 

  • Provide support to students who are struggling academically
  • Assist Radcliff staff to ensure that planned activities, hygiene and safety
    standards have been followed
  •  Planning, supporting, and instructing extracurricular activities.
  • Provide support for enrichment activities
  • Provide support for lego club
  • Supporting PE activities
  • Ensure all school policies and state regulations are met
  • Ensure a healthy learning environment - including maintaining
    appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security
    of students
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous
    quality improvement
  • Maintain an open channel of communication with Radcliff staff and
    administrators
  • Engage students in service activities and outreach

Position prerequisites

  • AmeriCorps members must be over 18, with high school diploma/GED, and a US Citizen or legal permanent resident
  • All AmeriCorps members complete a FBI and Truescreen background checks during pre-enrollment

Stipend : $2,636.36 per month
