Are you interested in meaningful work focused on improving air quality and public health, particularly for those who live in historically marginalized communities? If so, we encourage you to apply to join a team of like-minded individuals. The Drayage Implementation Section within California Air Resources Board’s (CARB's) Transportation and Toxics Division is recruiting for two (2) Staff Services Analysts (SSA) to implement efforts for various freight regulations, including the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) Regulation Drayage Truck Requirements. The Section is focused on implementing regulations to accelerate the use of zero-emission technologies at the State’s seaports, railyards, and other freight facilities. The Section is also responsible for supporting email inquiries, outreach, and other regulatory implementation and compliance assistance activities.

We are looking for friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working in a team environment. Members of this team will help with the reporting requirements of ACF and assist in processing various extension and exemption requests from regulated entities. The team is primarily responsible for the implementation of ACF, which involves a variety of challenging tasks, including assisting stakeholders in navigating complex emissions reduction requirements. Successful candidates will be highly motivated and self-starting. The position requires frequent communication with stakeholders via email and phone and, less frequently, in person. The team also provides customer service and technical support commensurate with SSA capabilities for other programs that reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, nitrogen oxides, diesel particulate matter, and other air toxics.
