About the job

Your primary responsibilities will be completing annual forest inventories with additional opportunities for forestry operations work including timber marking, logging supervision, reforestation, etc. Out of town work, primarily inventory work will be required.  Must be able to work alone with minimal supervision. Must keep and maintain a valid driver’s license as well as insurable driving record.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry
• Relevant internship experience
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel overnight to client sites

What you’ll do

Field Operations

• Use forestry related tools
• Maintains an acceptable marking level of production
• Maintains an acceptable marking level quality
• Schedules burning
• Supervises burn crews
• Performs follow-up site inspections
• Lays out SMZ's
• Conducts environmental field assessments as part of inventory
• Assess planting quality and measure stocking
• Maintains appearance and working order of company vehicle
• Operate company vehicle safely

Office Procedures

• Enforces timber sale contracts
• Performs preliminary review of outputs (volume/acreage reports, etc.)
• Operates various forestry related computer programs
• Organizes and turns in accurate field data
• Produces maps from aerial photos, plat, or other sources

• Maintains and promotes good relations with clients, contractors, buyers, etc
