School-Based Mental Health Practitioner or Professional-Clearbrook / Gonvick, MN

The Mental Health Professional is responsible to provide diagnostic assessments, therapy, and counseling support services for children and adolescents experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict. Day to day supervision is provided by the school principal and the Stellher program coordinator.

The Mental Health Practitioner is responsible to provide individual, group, and/or family skills as determined by a diagnostic assessment for children and adolescents experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict. Clinical supervision is provided by a mental health professional. Day to day supervision is provided by the school principal and the Stellher program coordinator.

Mental Health Professional:

 · Experience in the delivery of clinical services to recipients with mental illness.

· Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

· Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, and cultures and their history and origins.

· Demonstrated ability to interact with families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

· Able to work independently within established guidelines and with limited supervision and assistance.

· Able to travel to and from meetings with families, school officials, and other agencies. 

· Able to communicate clearly and effectively with other professionals in verbal and written formats. 

· Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences and licensed under Minnesota Statues as a psychologist, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, or psychiatric nurse.

Mental Health Practitioner:

  · Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

· Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, and cultures and their history and origins.

· Demonstrated ability to interact with families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

· Able to work independently within established guidelines and with limited supervision and assistance.

· Able to travel to and from meetings with families, school officials, and other agencies. 

· Able to communicate clearly and effectively with other professionals in verbal and written formats.

  · Master’s degree preferred. 

· Minimum of one of the following:

     o Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and 2000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to   recipients with mental illness or substance use disorder required. 

    o Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and has completed an internship/practicum with direct interaction with adult or child clients.

    o Has 4000 hours of work experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with a mental illness or substance abuse disorder.
