Ceramic Process Engineer

Ceramic Process Engineer- Cores and Casting

Perform the duties of a Ceramic Process Engineer at Schenectady Cores and Castings. The Ceramic Process Engineer, also referred to as Process Owner, is responsible for consistent execution of major ceramic manufacturing processes. The Process Engineer assures that executional variation of major processes are identified and controlled. 

The Process Engineer will work onsite at our Investment Casting Foundry in Schenectady Cores and Castings where you will get to work with innovative technologies.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Equipment: Understanding how each piece of equipment operates and the limitations of each. Establish process controls to minimize scrap. Implement fixtures to assure operations are consistently performed. Responsible for the good functioning of the equipment and standardization of processes.
  • People: Define work instructions and procedures required to assure operators perform tasks consistently. Establish operator skill levels to assure depth and breadth of skills. Create a skills assessment tool as needed. Assure personnel are trained to operate equipment safely and properly.
  • Quality: Owner of work instructions and process definitions. Work with QA and Product Engineers to implement customer requirements. Responsible for FPY improvement initiatives.
  • Safety: Assure that all equipment is operating as designed, including all safety features. Assure operators are trained in all equipment safety features. Contribute to Management of Change and Safety Risk Assessments on all new equipment.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field/related area.
  • Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing operations/production with at least 2 of those years focusing on process control.
  • This position is 100% onsite at the GE Schenectady plant and 1st shift. This position involves a consistent presence on the production floor with a daily check-in with operators, maintenance and leaders.
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Relocation assistance considered only within the USA.

 

Desired Characteristics

  • 2+ years of experience with new product design and processing of ceramic core production for investment castings.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, and highly competitive environment.
  • Personality and drive to execute in challenging and fulfilling manufacturing environment that operates under tight timelines and aggressive schedules.
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to convey concepts within all levels of our organization.
  • Strong academic foundation coupled with hands on experience.

 

The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.

This position is also eligible for 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​
