π About the Program
Sports Media Inc. is proud to offer an exciting Youth Sports Photographer Internshipβa unique opportunity for college students and aspiring photographers to gain professional experience in photojournalism, storytelling, and content creation.
This internship is part of our Community Engagement Program, where your talent behind the lens will help local leagues, athletes, and families preserve memories while building a powerful personal portfolio and income stream. Your images will be monetized through the Sports Media platform to help you build a future in sports journalism, media, and marketing.
π― Internship Objectives
Capture the Action: Photograph youth sports events, collecting dynamic action shots and individual/team portraits.
Build Community Archives: Help teams create lasting visual histories while engaging local families and supporters.
Monetize Your Art: Learn how to turn your photography into a source of revenue through our digital media network.
Develop Industry Skills: Train with professionals, build a competitive portfolio, and gain exposure to the sports media ecosystem.
π Weekly Schedule
To ensure active participation and mentorship, all interns are expected to attend at least one of the following virtual meetings (MST):
Mondays at 9:00 AM or 5:00 PM
Wednesdays at 10:00 AM
Fridays at 8:00 AM
π Key Responsibilities
π₯ Sports Event Photography
You must have your own equipment or have equipment available from your school
Attend and photograph youth sports events in your area.
Capture action shots, team photos, and individual athlete profiles.
Create editorial-style images that celebrate sportsmanship, talent, and emotion.
πΌοΈ Visual Storytelling
Produce content that reflects the spirit and diversity of local teams.
Edit and curate photos for publication across Sports Media Inc.βs platforms and partner outlets.
πΌ Community & Platform Engagement
Collaborate with local leagues, schools, and families to facilitate photo sessions.
Upload and tag images to our platform for monetization and archiving.
Participate in visual marketing campaigns to highlight your work and promote engagement.

College student or recent graduate (preferred, but not required).
Passion for photography, sports, and community storytelling.
Personal or school access to photo equipment (DSLR, mirrorless, or high-quality smartphones).
Familiarity with photo editing tools (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop) and social media.
Self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Location: Your local region (event-based coverage).
Length: Minimum 180 days (with potential for extension or advancement).
Time Commitment: Flexible schedule based on events + weekly meetings.
