Assistant Designer

What we're looking for

AITHER is looking for a full time summer Assistant Designer to join our team. We'll be open to a part-time basis when school resumes. This role involves working closely with our team to execute design tasks efficiently and effectively.

Our ideal candidate is great with Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator and 3D (would be a plus), efficient, detail-oriented, with excellent organization and understands auto layout.

You will join a team of UI, UX, and graphic designers that move fast to deliver the highest value to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support and collaborate on product design, graphic design, and animation projects and support across teams
  • Develop templates, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for digital products.
  • Manage and organize design components, styles, and assets. Define and implement design guidelines including naming conventions, grid systems, color palettes, and typography rules for Design Systems.
  • Work with design teams to conceptualize mood boards and define creative visions.
  • Maintain alignment of designs with brand standards and product objectives.
  • Assist in user testing sessions and contribute to the development of usability testing protocols.
  • Develop and refine the visual identity of our brand and our clients’ brands.
  • Create layouts for websites, as well as graphics for social media and other digital platforms.

Qualifications

  • Must be available to work with the NYC team between 9am-6pm EST
  • Skilled in design software in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in Gsuite, Notion, and Slack.
  • Understanding of typography, font pairings, and layout design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a solid grasp of design principles and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with designers, product managers, engineers, data scientists, and marketers.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and responsiveness to feedback.
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
