Autumn 2024 - Permitting College Intern (20047903)
What We Need:
Ohio EPA Autumn Intern – Surface Water
What We Do:
At the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, our primary goal is to protect the environment and public health. We do this by ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental laws.
What We Need YOU To Do:
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest intern in the Division of Surface Water (DSW) at our Northwest District Office in Wood County.
You’ll be way more than “just an intern.”
As a college intern, you’ll receive training and orientation on all aspects of our surface water program and assist the technical staff with a variety of program duties. You’ll work with an environmental engineer to collect and summarize data needed to review permit to install (PTI) applications, general plans and engineering plans for wastewater treatment facilities. You’ll get to peek under the hood, assisting with collecting and tabulating data required for important agency actions such as National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, findings and orders, enforcement referrals, and complaints for various wastewater sources. You’ll prepare reports and review plans for conformance with agency design guidelines and do routine things like updating files and organizing information requested by internal and external clients. But we promise – you won’t be bored!
Here are the takeaways:
- Participate in the intern program for the surface water program.
- Collect and summarize data for wastewater treatment PTI applications.
- Collect and tabulate data required for NPDES draft permits and actions.
- Prepare reports, review plans and tabulate information as requested.
- Learn cool stuff, make connections and have fun!
