Job Locations: Southern Region, offices based out of Dallas, TX, Houston, TX and Atlanta, GA. Jobsite locations vary across the Southern Region.
PROJECT ENGINEER INTERN / CO-OP
Reports to the Project Manager Located on the Project Site
Responsible for assisting on-site Project Manager and Superintendent in managing the construction of the project.
Interns also are involved in general contract and
subcontract administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Site logistics model-based planning and preparation
2. Construction scheduling and assist in 4D scheduling
3. Procurement and expediting of material and equipment
4. Coordination of mechanical, electrical and piping systems
5. Coordination of shop drawing and submittal review
6. Project cost review, reporting, updating and accounting
7. Review of subcontractor applications for payment
ESTIMATOR INTERN / CO-OP
Reports to the Preconstruction Manager Located at a Regional Office
Assists in the pricing and bidding of construction projects and performs quantity take-offs. Also communicates with architects and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in the pricing and bidding of construction projects, reviewing milestone documents to price alternative opportunities
2. Participate in the internal estimate review process and assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation for owner
3. Participate in hard bid/estimating and GMP budgeting by evaluating bids and collecting/organizing information for future use
4. Prepare contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts, and direct information/documents to subcontractors
5. Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors and clients, and represent McCarthy at industry events
6. Implement all applicable safety and EEO/Affirmative Action programs on-site
