Test Lab Engineer
Overview
This position involves designing and conducting rigorous tests on various HVAC components and systems. The engineer sets up test equipment and environments to simulate real-world conditions, ensuring that the systems operate efficiently, safely, and within environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Test engineers work as a team, providing expertise to build and improve test facilities involving mechanical and electrical systems, data acquisition, control and automation.
- Learn and apply technical skills related to mechanical and electrical HVAC systems toward new product development engineering activities.
- Act as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting issues with test cells, instrumentation, data acquisition software, and test units.
- Develop project plans using formal Gantt charts, track/maintain project schedules to ensure on time completion.
- Work with cross-functional project teams to ensure testing expectations are clearly defined and communicated.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of Test data with a goal of zero defective results.
- Provide technical oversight as required for general testing activities to ensure the highest level of quality and integrity of the result.
- Implement lab process improvements as related to productivity, metrics, and continuous improvement.
- Review and comprehend external testing standards & how they apply to internal testing procedures.
- Develop new testing protocols for incorporation into existing Daikin testing methods and procedures.
- Coordinate activities with product engineers and a team of technicians. • Analyze and interpret data from test results.
- Continuously develops existing technical expertise and expands into other areas as the needs of the organization dictate.
- Frequently use hand tools as needed to perform specialized tests, troubleshoot/repair equipment, etc
