Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Agencies and Institutions Licensing Supervisor. Under administrative direction, this position plans, supervises, reviews, and coordinates the activities of a team of professional staff engaged in providing licensing services, including licensing studies, investigations, and reviews of child welfare agencies and institutions. The position provides oversight of professional staff and makes recommendations to upper management regarding licensing and renewal studies for new and existing agencies. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about children and interested in being a leader in the administration of agency monitoring services to ensure agencies and facilities adhere to all appropriate licensing requirements to keep children safe. Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as Agencies and Institutions Licensing Supervisor.
2. Serves as full line supervisor.
3. Establishes and implements a team-based program of staff development and training for subordinate staff.
4. Explains and enforces agency policies, procedures, state and area statutes, and requirements.
5. Makes recommendations to manager regarding licensing and renewal studies for new and existing agencies in accordance with DCFS policies and procedures.
6. Monitors staff efforts in resolving licensing and program issues.
7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires a master’s degree in social work or a related human services field from a recognized college or university.
2. Requires three years of administrative child welfare or investigations experience with an MSW or four years of child welfare or investigations administrative experience with a master’s degree in a related human services field.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Three years of professional experience conducting child welfare licensing services, child welfare casework, or child protection investigations.
2. Three years of experience supervising professional staff in a public or private organization.
3. Three years of management experience in a professional business or public agency.
4. Three years of professional experience evaluating program and personnel performance in a public or private organization.
5. Three years of professional experience conducting program monitoring in a public or private organization.
6. Three years of professional experience conducting staff training in a public or private organization
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires a valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
2. Requires ability to pass a background check.
