Salary: Starting at $67,041.22; includes benefit package (potential for increased starting salary based on years of service); in addition to other benefits Mason County participates in Michigan Municipal Employees Retirement System (MERS) vests at 10 years of service.

Job Description: Under the direction of the Prosecuting Attorney reviews requests for warrants and determines the appropriate charge(s), presents criminal cases in the District and Circuit Courts, as well as handling Family Court and Probate Court matters. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: handling misdemeanor and felony criminal cases; conducting evidentiary hearings, preliminary examinations and trials; participating in mental health hearings; meeting with crime victims and witnesses; preparation of legal pleadings; responding to motions and/or appeals. This list is not be inclusive of the total scope of the job functions to be performed. Duties may be added, deleted, or modified at any time by the Prosecuting Attorney.
Qualifications: Law degree from an accredited law school, some criminal law and litigation experience preferred but not necessary; licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Michigan; or awaiting State Bar examination or results.
Working Conditions: Full time and in-person.
