Position Description; Junior Interior Designer 

 

Full job description

We are a published and successful, fast moving, high-end residential interior design practice looking to expand our talented team. We also do commercial work in the areas of country clubs, etc.  We challenge new designers with hands-on experience that strengthens skills and broadens perspectives. This is an established firm whose work environment, although fast paced, is friendly, fun, and comprised of passionate and focused professionals. 

Please meet the following qualifications:

  • Interior Design/Architecture Bachelor's degree
  • 0-3 years’ experience in the Residential Interior Design.  We accept graduating students who are willing to learn!
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Photoshop & SKETCH-UP!
  • Excellent graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
  • Knowledge in reading construction documents
  • Rendering abilities (either hand or computer)
  • Has reliable transportation
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Easy going and with an open attitude
  • Curiosity, self-motivation, and the ability to work within a team are essential
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and high production 
  • Persistent, proactive, and resourceful: VERY IMPORTANT
  • A professional attitude is necessary and willing to learn quickly

Essential Skills & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and assist project designer in all phases of interior design projects (includes conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, vendor follow ups, pricing requests, etc.)
  • Assist in documentation of furniture and accessory selections and orders samples. 
  • Jobsite visits, site surveys, and installer supervision
  • Vendor relations
  • Furniture set-ups in Power Point for documentation. 
  • Receiving deliveries
  • Helps to create Specification Books
  • Works with CAD Tech to Materialize concepts/ideas into shop drawings
  • Project installs 
  • Knowledge of Houzz Pro Ivy Software
