Honors Program Student Ambassador
The NMU Honors Program requires a Student Ambassador for 6-8 hours/week for the Fall 2024 Semester!
The Honors Program Student Ambassador will interact with current and prospective students. Duties include working with the Admissions Office to meet prospective Honors Program students, either in person or via Zoom. Honors Program staff will provide training in meeting with prospective students and sharing information about the Honors Program. Additional responsibilities will include outreach to prospective students, event planning, and other general office duties including word processing, mailings, e-mailing, copying, etc.
We may also need assistance in the following areas:
- Greeting students, faculty, staff
- Enhancing the department’s social media presence
- Relevant posts to Facebook page, Instagram, and the Honors Program Friends/Family Facebook group up to 3+ times/week
- Possibly creating & updating other social media accounts
- Attending department events, taking photos and videos
- Creating/producing video spots of alums and students
- Creating marketing brochures, posters, ads, etc.
- Updating bulletin boards
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- NMU Honors Program student with at least one year completed at NMU
- Be free of academic and/or disciplinary probation and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 while employed.
- Ability to communicate with diverse populations in a positive and friendly manner.
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Demonstrates a sincere interest in helping people.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with computer applications run from Windows and Google formats.
- A keen attention to detail
- Ability to write effectively
- Good organizational abilities
- World language experience (preferred)
- Graphic design experience (preferred)
