Food Safety Quality Assurance Specialist- Assistant
The ideal candidate will have experience implementing or assessing Food Safety or Quality Assurance, HACCP, conducting root cause analysis, with an educational background in Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance. The objective of this role is to provide support and guidance to ensure compliance with Regulatory and Restaurant Depot requirements.
· Works with the Buying team and Suppliers to ensure compliance with Quality and Safety Standards, including performance, sensory, and physical attributes.
· Works with FSQA and Buying teams with testing, outcomes, as well as follow up.
· Assists with training on Quality Assurance programs, procedures, and related areas.
· Ability to conduct in-house testing and coordinate outsourced lab testing.
· Ability to create and maintain reports.
· Ability to create excel spreadsheets to track and evaluate data.
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, conditional formatting, pivot tables, macros, and data simulations.
· Ability to do research on products, specification, and industry standards.
· Work with suppliers, buyers, and FSQA team on evaluations and/or test results on technical level to ensure validity.
· Focuses on Quality: Takes an efficient approach to solve problems or produce outcome in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures quality and accuracy of results.

This is not a hybrid schedule - it is an in person position- with potential for remote 1 day per week.
Education and Experience:
· Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in food science, culinary arts or related field of study.
· A minimum of 3 years' experience in food safety, quality assurance, culinary operations, food production or related field.
