SDLE Intern for the Envoys Program

Position Overview:

The SDLE Research Center is seeking a motivated and organized undergraduate student to join our team as a Program Support Assistant internship. This unique position offers the opportunity to work directly under the guidance of the Program Manager, contributing significantly to the management of participating high school students in and facilitation of Envoy Program and American Chemical Society SEED Program.

Duration & Compensation: June to August (Summer Position) 

Job Location: In-person, on campus

Work Hours: Part-time (20-30 hours), with specific responsibilities during the hours of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation: $15/hr

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and ensure the daily attendance of 11 high school students participating in the ACS Project Seed program, ensuring their active participation in shared activity spaces such as SURES sessions and other associated programming on campus.

- Support up to an additional 8 high school students attending through the SDLE Envoy program, maintaining attendance records and ensuring engagement during their 2-day weekly attendance throughout the Summer.

- Facilitate communication and coordination between students, program staff, and external partners to ensure a productive and enriching experience for all participants.

-Ensure that the attending high school students complete their relevant training to participate in research through the summer. 

- Report directly to the Program Manager, providing detailed updates and feedback on program progress and student attendance.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled undergraduate student with a strong academic record.

- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite  and Google products (Word/Docs, Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides), and willingness to utilize the software of Slack and agile team science software such as Jira and Confluence.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with high school students, staff, and faculty.

- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all program participants.

- Prior experience in a similar role or with educational programs is a plus, but not required.
