Sustainability Intern - London, UK

Based in London Corporate Office within the Sustainability Department, the intern is responsable for the Scop 3 Emissions Mapping. The intern reports to the Director of Sustainability, Global Development.

Our ambition is to establish a reliable baseline for Scope 3 emissions since this will serve as the cornerstone for achieving significant progress toward our decarbonisation objectives. Mandarin Oriental will commence mapping of Scope 3 emissions in 2024, which involves defining organisational and operational boundaries, conducting a materiality assessment, determining Scope 3 activity data (e.g. supply chain and spend), calculating related emissions footprint, and analysing hotspot emissions for the Group. By year end, we intend to calculate the initial Scope 3 emissions baseline for the Group based on 2023 spend data. Purchased Goods and Services calculations (i.e. Category 1 of the 15 categories of Scope 3), is anticipated to comprise the majority of Scope 3 emissions for the Group.
