Social Media Intern

Social Media Intern

Are you a passionate content creator? Someone who hops on the latest TikTok trends? Looking to build skills for a career in social media, content creation, or marketing?

We’re seeking a college student whose voice and social savvy can help expand the presence of Queer AF: Art + Fashion Show, presented by Love Your Labels.

Queer AF is organized by a team of volunteers from Central Massachusetts who imagine, create, and execute a fashion show fundraiser to benefit trans and queer youth in Central Massachusetts. Last year, more than 600 people attended the show, which featured 50-plus local models wearing styles by designers from across the country.

To pull off this event, we need a robust social media campaign with imagery and content that convey the basic details of Queer AF (purpose, date, location, theme), generate excitement about all kinds of queer art and fashion, highlight the vital work of Love Your Labels, and encourage people to purchase tickets for the show. We’d expect 5 to 10 hours of commitment per week to start the first week in June through the end of September 2024. Duties: including but not limited to posting and scheduling content for IG and Facebook, creating content in Canva, connecting with folx through IG direct message to increase show exposure, as well as social media coverage during the event. There is an opportunity to launch a TikTok account for Queer AF. The intern in this role will benefit from attending Queer AF planning meetings held in Worcester, typically on Mondays from 6-8pm, but some remote work can be expected. An offer of recommendation will be extended upon completion of the internship. We are happy to work with your institution to explore the possibility of offering internship credit.

You'll be a great fit for this role if you love learning, are constantly thinking up ideas for Reels and aesthetic grid posts, are a self-starter, and if you’re a passionate member of the LGBTQIA+ community or ally. Tell us what grabs your attention on social media and what strategies you’d use to promote the show to folx across New England.

To apply, send your resume, cover letter, and examples of your social media work to Melissa at storytelling@loveyourlabels.org.
