Electrical Engineer

Geedop, a startup from El Paso, TX, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team at Geedop. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components for our next generation of high-tech industrial devices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our development team to develop product requirements and specifications.
  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for new industrial devices, including analog and digital circuitry, embedded systems, power systems, and communication interfaces.
  • Perform schematic capture and PCB layout, ensuring compliance with design rules and industry standards.
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to verify the performance of designs, and make improvements as necessary.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate and debug hardware designs, ensuring product quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to develop and integrate embedded systems.
  • Support the transition of products from design to manufacturing, including the creation of manufacturing documentation and providing technical support.
  • Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigation for any issues found during testing or production.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and standards to contribute to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, design reviews, and other documentation as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and power electronics.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools, such as Altium Designer or similar.
  • Familiarity with electronics simulation and analysis tools, such as SPICE, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for electrical design and manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in a product development environment focused on industrial applications.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, FPGA, and/or DSP programming is a plus.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements, such as FCC, CE, UL, or RoHS, is a plus.
